Everything will be perfect... tonight and forever

The last time I saw Judge Jules was at the Last Supper Club just before Halloween 2002. The opening DJ was Brian Asher who played a set that matched, if not topped, Jules Jules'.

This time Asher was once again the opening DJ at the Showbox, and was still pretty darn good, but didn't outshine Jules. And this time, Judge Jules spun a set that topped his previous one.

Asher's set the mood with a great trance/house mix. Though the floor was empty when he first started spinning, by the time Jules got on, the atmosphere was raging.

The track selection and mixing by Jules were impeccable. He maintained a high energy level from the beginning to the end of the show. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of his studio mixes, I think he's one of the best DJs to check out live.

The Showbox staff is a bit mixed--I've met some really nice people and some people with a chip on their shoulder. Watch out for them.

For the first time in an electronic music act (that I've been to at least), Judge Jules was encouraged to play one more track after he had finished. That is a statement to how much people enjoyed his song selection. Happiness happening, indeed.
